Department of Forestry, Wildlife and Fisheries
The Department of Forestry, Wildlife and Fisheries is located at the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture. We house two exciting areas of study: the forestry major, and the wildlife and fisheries major.
The department also has multiple master’s degree programs and a doctoral program in natural resources. Our curricula focus on a mastery learning approach, emphasizing practical, hands-on experiences in the chosen field of study. Our faculty, staff, and students conduct research and extension that advances the science and sustainable management of our natural resources.
The department offers two master of science degrees: a MS with a major in Forestry or a MS in Wildlife and Fisheries Science. The MS program in Forestry offers both a thesis and non-thesis option; a thesis is required for the MS in Wildlife and Fisheries Science.
