The Environmental Science program will train scientists to assume professional roles to address local to international environmental problems from a multidisciplinary perspective.
The Environmental Science Program provides undergraduate and Master's level preparation for students who wish to contribute to understanding and solving anthropogenic or natural problems associated with the environment. The program is designed to provide a rigorous foundation in the sciences that will prepare students for graduate school and careers in the environmental workforce. The program takes advantage of UTEP’s unique binational setting that allows students to apply their expertise in the search for solutions to regional, national and international environmental problems.
Our environment is very important to us because it is where we live and share resources with other species.
Environmental science is the study of interactions among the physical, chemical and biological components of the environment. Environmental science enlightens us on how to conserve our environment in the face of increasing human population growth and anthropogenic activities that degrade natural resources and ecosystems.
