Department of Biological Sciences
This growing department is characterized by addressing biological issues ranging from local to global and from molecular to organismal. A great deal of our research is approached from an interdisciplinary perspective and many of our faculty members have collaborative projects. In the last couple of years our department has increased both the number of publications and grant money generated almost exponentially.
The Department of Biological Sciences serves students desiring to gain a broad background in biology, botany, environmental biology, zoology, or wildlife ecology and management. This preparation qualifies students for professional work in health professions, teaching, research, industry, or for graduate study.
It offers Master of Arts, Master of Science and Master of Science in Education.
As an interdisciplinary degree with content focused on life science, this MS program is amenable for those in teaching, medical technology, nursing, museum curatorial and other professions.
